Continuing Education

Keep your credential current. Learn from approved providers everywhere.

The requirement

CAIBOK certificants complete 12 continuing-education credit hours per year, with a minimum of 3 in each pillar: Food Safety, Professional Cooking, and Business. One credit generally equals one hour of instruction.

How credits work

  1. Approved providers register each activity with CAIBOK; the activity receives a unique CE reference number (like CE-A2B3C4).
  2. When you complete an activity, the provider gives you its reference number — some providers report your completion to CAIBOK automatically.
  3. Log in and submit the reference number on your My CE page. It must match the registry — that is what keeps credits meaningful.
  4. Your CE status (total and per pillar, rolling 12 months) is always visible on your My CE page.

CAIBOK publishes standards and keeps the registry; designated evaluation bodies review and approve credit-worthiness. Provider approval is not an endorsement of any other product or service.

Become a CE provider

Culinary schools, associations, seminar organizers and online educators can apply to offer CAIBOK-creditable training — online or in person. Approved providers are listed in the public directory, receive a provider number, and can register activities that carry CE reference numbers.
